- Most phones sold in Singapore in the last few years support eSIM, including recent iPhones (XS and newer) and flagship Android phones from Samsung, Google and others. Your phone also needs to be carrier-unlocked, which phones bought outright in Singapore almost always are.
- Will an eSIM give me a phone number for calls and SMS?
- Most travel eSIMs are data-only — they do not come with a local phone number. Your Singapore number stays active on your physical SIM for incoming calls and SMS (watch for roaming charges). For OTPs and messaging, use apps like WhatsApp or Telegram over data.
- Should I buy an eSIM or just use telco roaming?
